The Vermont Association of Middle Level Educators (VAMLE) supports, encourages, and inspires middle level educators to develop programs designed specifically around the needs of early adolescents, with the focus on learning for every student and a strong student voice. The 2016 conference, which was hosted at the University of Vermont on March 8th, provided a wonderful opportunity and forum for students and educators to lead sessions and workshops which focused around creating a culture of respect in learning environments. Members of Special Olympics Vermont’s Youth Activation Committee hosted an informative and interactive session to educate teachers and students about Special Olympics, Unified Sports, Youth Activation, Respect and Inclusion.
