Beyond the competition, Team Vermont athletes had the opportunity to focus on another important part of their USA Games journey: their health and wellness. Through the Healthy Athletes® program, athletes participated in interactive screenings and educational experiences designed to help them better understand their health and build lifelong healthy habits.

Throughout the week, athletes took part in programs including Opening Eyes, where they received vision screenings and support; FUNfitness, which helped athletes learn more about flexibility, strength, and overall fitness; and Strong Minds, which encouraged athletes to build confidence, manage stress, and develop positive mental wellness strategies.

These experiences gave Team Vermont athletes valuable tools to advocate for their own health while continuing to grow as leaders both on and off the playing field. As part of their Healthy Athletes experience, athletes also went home with new glasses from Opening Eyes and brand-new New Balance sneakers from Tradehome Shoes after completing their screenings.

At USA Games, Team Vermont athletes showed that being a champion is about more than medals—it’s about taking care of yourself, learning new skills, and embracing every opportunity to thrive.
