BECOME A
COACH

Special Olympics is an organization which relies on volunteer coaches who dedicate their time, knowledge and spirit to help our athletes exceed expectations. Coaching with Special Olympics Vermont is an important responsibility that offers significant rewards. In order to ensure that our athletes have a safe, challenging, and authentic sports experience at every practice and competition, Special Olympics requires coaches to be certified, and seeks to support volunteer coaches to build upon their skills.

"In the name of all coaches, and in the spirit of sportsmanship, I promise that we will act professionally, respect others, and ensure a positive experience for all. I promise to provide quality sports and training opportunities and a safe environment for all athletes." - Coaches Oath

HERE'S HOW TO GET STARTED.

Special Olympics Vermont offers sports training and competition opportunities to athletes in all fourteen Vermont Counties. Our programs are often seeking volunteer coaches who are committed to helping people with intellectual disabilities challenge themselves and the stereotypes they face on a daily basis. Coaches who value ability over disability will be successful with SOVT.
