South Burlington, Vermont – Special Olympics Vermont is proud to announce the successful conclusion of the 2025 Winter Games, which took place on March 2nd and 3rd, 2025 in Wilmington, VT. Nearly 150 athletes from Vermont and surrounding areas gathered to compete in various winter sports, showcasing their skills and dedication in a celebration of inclusivity and community spirit.

The 2025 Winter Games featured action-packed events in both Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding, held at the picturesque Hermitage Club at Haystack Mountain, and cross-country skiing and snowshoeing competitions at Marlboro Nordic Ski Club at Potash Hill.

The incredible support from volunteers, law enforcement, families, and partners made the event even more meaningful, reflecting the strength of our community and the impact of inclusion.” - Sarah McCaffrey, President & CEO of Special Olympics Vermont

From carving through the snow on skis to racing across Nordic trails, each competitor displayed remarkable dedication to their sport and the Special Olympics mission. The Special Olympics Vermont 2025 Winter Games proved to be a triumphant showcase of the spirit of competition, unity, and inclusion, and a reminder of the power of sports to bring people together.

The Winter Games would not have been possible without the contributions of our dedicated volunteers, enthusiastic supporters, and generous partners. Special thanks go to The Hermitage Club, The Hodson Family, Rally 2 Give, Marlboro Nordic Ski Club, Potash Hill, and Brattleboro Food Coop for their generous support and commitment to creating this life-changing experience for our athletes.

We also would like to thank the Law Enforcement Officers from Dover Police, Wilmington Police, Windsor Police, the Windham County Sheriff's Office, Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department and Vermont State Police who came out to support our athletes and award their hard-earned medals.
