At Special Olympics Vermont, fitness goes far beyond training for competition it’s about building healthy habits, meaningful connections, and confidence that lasts a lifetime. That’s exactly what our Fitness Fridays with UVM SAAC are all about.
Hosted at the University of Vermont Track, these sessions bring together Special Olympics athletes and student-athletes from the University of Vermont for an afternoon of movement, motivation, and connection.
Fitness Fridays create a space where athletes can engage with one another outside of traditional practices and competitions. The program reinforces that fitness isn’t limited to game day it’s a key part of everyday life. By building routines that athletes can carry with them beyond the track, Fitness Fridays help empower participants to prioritize their health, stay active, and feel their best year-round.
Our continued partnership with UVM SAAC plays a huge role in bringing this program to life. UVM has a long-standing relationship with Special Olympics Vermont, rooted in inclusion, mentorship, and shared experiences through sport. Their student-athletes show up each week ready to lead, support, and learn alongside our athletes making every Friday something special.
