SOVT is excited to announce our 2021 Special Olympics Vermont Virtual Conference on Friday, December 10th (Schools Day) and Saturday, December 11th (Local Programs Day)! Conference and session times are to be announced.
SOVT invites student-athletes, families, school-aged Unified partners and educators throughout Vermont to join us on Friday for our Schools-focused sessions. We will share an overview of Special Olympics' Unified Champion Schools programming - which is proven to reduce bullying and foster more inclusive school environments - and explain how to implement it, as well as provide examples of successful implementation. There will be time set aside for schools to connect with one another, ask questions, and share resources / experiences with UCS offerings (i.e. Unified Clubs, Spread the Word & more)!
Athletes, families, program coordinators, coaches, and Unified partners who participate in SOVT through local programs are encouraged to join our Local Programs-focused day on Saturday! Programs will have the opportunity to share their experiences and highlights from the past year with one another, as well as exchange ideas and best practices. Local programs, along with SOVT, have had to think out of the box in 2021 and we are eager to share with our community some awesome examples of nontraditional programming!
Both days will include a 6-12 month programming overview, coach trainings, athlete leadership training, and more! Registration is required: click here to register!
