About the Event
Athletes, Coaches, HODs & Volunteers! We're creating a collection of your favorite healthy snack recipes - submit a recipe to be a part of it! Please email your recipe to firstname.lastname@example.org by April 23rd, and we'll include it in SOVT's Gold Medal Snacks Cookbook! Whether it's homemade granola, frozen grapes, or carrots & peanut butter, we want to share your favorite healthy snacks with the SOVT community!
Not sure what counts as a “Gold Medal Snack”? Here are a few tips to point you in the right direction:
· Snacks that contain fruits and/or vegetables since they are loaded with vitamins and minerals!
· Snacks that have protein! Protein helps build strong muscles and is important for refueling after exercises.
· Snacks with whole grains- whole grains like whole wheat bread, oats, and brown rice give us carbohydrates which is the main source of fuel for our bodies during exercise, and whole grains have fiber, which helps keep us full!
