In addition to the physical benefits, sports can give people confidence, teach teamwork, and help people work towards a goal. At Special Olympics Vermont, we’re proud to help people from all across the state come together through sports. Since 1971, we’ve offered athletic training and events for persons with intellectual disabilities. Now we have over 900 athletes, both children and adults, and our numbers continue to grow. We offer 12 Olympic-type individual and team sports that provide meaningful training and competition opportunities for persons with intellectual disabilities. Click a sport for a brief description.
