Miles for a Mission

25th Annual KeyBank Vermont City Marathon

Sunday, May 26, Waterfront Park, Burlington

Special Olympics Vermont is thrilled to be a Miles for a Mission partner for the 2013 KeyBank Vermont City Marathon.  RunVermont’s Miles for a Mission program was created in 2009 to help local charities raise financial support through the KeyBank Vermont City Marathon and Relay. This program was designed to strengthen ties between the running community and Vermont charities.

In 2013, SOVT has 8 relay teams who are raising funds and awareness for our 1,071 athletes.  On one of the 3-5 person relay teams, there are 3 athletes who will each be tackling at least 3.4 miles, with some legs has high as 5.5 miles.

We will also host an aid station at the race where volunteers, staff, board members and athletes will make sure to keep the nearly 8,000 runners hydrated and fueled.  At the end of the race, SOVT will have it’s own tent at Waterfront Park for its runners to gather and recoup.
